Love At Last

Lily dialed Jarod’s number, and it took a while before he picked up, but she was relieved he finally picked up.

“Hey Jarod, I need to see you right now, please”, Lily pleaded.

“Aright, where are you?” Jarod asked.

“I’m at Dan Restaurant,” lily replied.

“Alright, I’ll be there in half an hour,” Jarod said.

Thirty minutes after she had asked Jarod to meet with her, she had not seen him and was worried about why he had not shown up. She picks her phone, about to call him, then sees him approaching the restaurant. Then she dropped her phone and crossed her fingers, waiting for him to get to where she was sitting.

“So, what’s up?” Jarod asked.

“I called to see him today just to break up with him, but it did not go well, he threatened me. I thought he agreed, not until he told the judges that I was a fraud,” Lily said and slapped her palms on her face.

“Gosh, he is so annoying,” Jarod said.

“I can’t reach out to Cayden as he is not showing up, and I am too guilty to face him at the moment. He had warned me, but I was too strong headed and now, look at what it is costing me,” Lily said.

LILY’S POV

I really wished I had listened to Cayden when he warned me. Now, he would rather not show up or get involved in anything concerning me. I hate regrets, I do not have a plan on what I can do right now.

I am hoping on Jarod that he helps me out of this mess I have put myself into. Likewise, I know, next time, I will be wiser. Furthermore, I would not be so strong headed anymore as I was with Cayden.

“Stop being a pity party, Lily,” Jarod said.

“But what do I do? I am scattered. Aren’t I pitiful?” Cayden said.

“Let us make him pay,” Jarod said, with confidence beaming out of his eyes.

I felt hope was back for me as Jarod looked like he had a plan, and a smart one at that. I felt so relieved and ready to make Daniel pay for threatening and making my life a mess.

“How do we make him pay?” I asked, keenly.

“Firstly, we are going shopping,” Jarod said.

“What! Shopping? Are you kidding me?” I asked in disbelief.

“Calm down, Lily. I do not mean shopping for fun,” Jarod said.

“What do you mean, then? I do not seem to understand,” I said, with a confused look on my face.

“We are going to shops that can provide us with tools and equipment that can change our voice,” Jarod explained.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

“Okay? What next?” I asked.

“We are going to call the police with a different phone,” Jarod said.

“Alright, that is a good idea, but when we call them, won’t they ask to see us? How are we going to do that?” I asked out of curiosity.

“We are going to get props too, we would disguise excellently in a way that no one would be able to recognize us. Even you won’t be able to recognize yourself,” Jarod said.

“Wow, seems like an excellent plan,” I said

“Yeah, and we would cover our faces where necessary, so cameras won’t spot our faces, you understand what I am trying to explain, right?” He asked.

“Yeah, I do,” I said, with confidence.

“Yeah, let’s get to it,” Jarod said.

We went to shops to buy all the things that could change our voice, then we bought a new phone and different kinds of good props.

We finally got set, and we called the police, they picked, and then we got ready to set the plan.

“Hello, who is on the line?” A male cop asked.

“I am Greg, I want to report an evil person to you. He is a notorious gang leader, and he needs to be caught right now!” Jarod said.

“Alright, give me his address and can we meet with you, so we can gain more information on this case?” He asked.

“Sure, you can,” Jarod said.

We hung up.

A few minutes later, they came over to see us to ask us some questions, and we did not look familiar to them.

“So, what is this person’s name?” The cop asked.

“Daniel Martins,” Jarod answered.

“So, you said he is a notorious gang leader, right?” He asked.

“Yes,” Jarod said.

They asked a few more questions, and they went to hunt Daniel down.

A few hours later, the news showed on TV, Daniel being handcuffed and tagged as a notorious gang leader and was announced to be on trial. Cayden saw the news but didn’t call Lily.

LILY’S POV

I felt so sad and guilty when I didn’t receive a call from Cayden, even after I was certain that he had seen the news. I knew he had tried to protect me, and I was blinded, I didn’t know and now, my eyes are open.

“Thank you for helping me out, Jarod,” I thanked him.

“Oh! That was nothing, I just want you to get your mind off things that aren’t necessary. Now that he is gone, I want you to smile and rest,” Jarod said.

“Thank you,” I said.

Granny was shocked and in grief when she saw the news. She didn’t know she had been welcoming a dangerous man into her house.

I was thankful that he had not hurt granny in any way or did something that would put a lasting regret in my heart.

All I wished for now was to get forgiveness from Cayden. He had not been picking my calls, I am very certain he is furious.

Now, I know I would have to face my evil classmates again, as they have seen the news. They would start saying I am cursed and don’t end up with the right people, but I wasn’t concerned about the insults. All that mattered right now was that I was alive.
