Love At Last

The judges kept visiting me at my shops frequently to ask me questions and get some information. Eventually, I had passed on to the next level after a lot of clarification, and then I started preparations for my final level in the competition.

I thought of Cayden and decided to call him. His phone rang and rang with no answer, I kept feeling guilty as he refused to pick up his call.

I even tried going to his house occasionally to try my luck if I was going to be allowed to see him. Every single time, I was rejected, but I had to keep trying as guilt didn’t allow me to rest.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Eventually, I was allowed one day, and I was happy. I went in and apologized to him a lot.

“I am so sorry, Cayden, please understand me. I am pleading for your forgiveness, Cayden,” I said as I kept repeating to be forgiven.

” I only wanted to be family with him because of my son. He was always bullied over not having a father. I feel bad for him, everyone he comes home crying bitterly over that,” I continued explaining and pleading.

“I understand you very much on this, lily. I really do understand why you had to make that decision for your child. After all, a mother can do anything for her child,” Cayden said.

“Thank you so much for understanding, Cayden. I apologize for doing that. I wish I had listened to you, I have learned my lesson,” I continued pleading with tears rolling down my cheeks.

“I have heard you, but I am still hurt by your actions, lily. You made me hurt with your decision, and that is why I ignored you and didn’t do anything when you were in that mess. I also needed time to clear my head,” Cayden said.

“But why were you hurt, I really do not understand Cayden. You told me multiple and countless times that I meant nothing special to you. You made me convinced that I have never been someone like that to you and there is no way I can make you hurt if I do not hold a special place in your heart,” I said, as I was confused about what Cayden meant.

“It’s really the opposite. I care about you, Lily. I care about you more than you can ever imagine. And I love you so much and with all my heart, I hid it all. And that is why I said you hurt me,” Cayden said.

Cayden pushed me to the wall, stared into my eyes and hungrily kissed me deeply, I was shocked, but I reciprocated the kiss. He gave me a warm kiss that sent warmth through my whole body. He held my head tightly, and I was like Alice in Wonderland. Then a call came in, I released myself from him and checked the caller and saw that I had to pick it up.

“Hello, yeah, yeah, that’s correct. Alright then,” I said as I ended the call.

Then I looked at Cayden and finally took the opportunity to invite him to come watch me for my final contest.

“Tomorrow is my final participation in that contest and I would love to see you around,” I said.

“I have not forgotten my price yet, and I know you want your money back, thrice the amount of the competition,” Cayden said.

“What! What do you mean?” I asked, in a confused tone.

“You heard me right,” Cayden said.

“I am inviting you, only as a visitor. Just to watch how my cooking contest plays out and this is what you could say?”, I said in disbelief.

Lily ran out in disgust and pain. Then Cayden felt stupid for misunderstanding and being too quick to talk.

CAYDEN’S POV

I wished I had not talked too fast. Now, I have created another misunderstanding between us. Oh goodness, what is going to happen now?

But I can’t believe I actually confessed my feelings to her. I would have to deal with it anyway, and she would have known any sooner. I feel much more relieved after confessing my feelings.

…….

LILY’S POV

I had hurt him and now, it is his time to act just anyhow with me. I wanted him to come over to watch me as I amaze everyone with my cooking skills, but all he said was gibberish.

Lily had gotten home and she bursts into tears. She had tried her best to hold the tears as she was coming back home, and then her granny saw her crying.

“Lily my child, what’s wrong?” She asked.

Lily cried the more as her granny asked her what was wrong. Her granny, seeing this, began to pet her and pat her back.

“Are you okay, lily? Come on, tell me what is wrong, lily? You can talk to me,” She kept on asking.

Then Lily decided to open up to her grandmother about everything that happened.

” I decided to give my ex-boyfriend a chance, most especially because of my son, and I thought he was serious about us and wanted to become a family. Little did I know that he was not ready to get married. I had hurt Cayden because of him and when I knew his ugly intentions, I decided to break up with him, which I tried but be framed me up and now, I am in a mess. I tried to reach out to Cayden as I felt guilty, and I wanted to apologize for what I did, but he ignored me for a long while. Not until today when I was allowed to see him. I pleaded and pleaded, and he told me that I had hurt him.” I paused for a while.

“Oh my! So, what happened next?” Granny said.

“He uttered nonsense, I’m just confused, granny,” I said with tears in my eyes.

“It’s alright, my child,” granny said, comforting me.
