Chapter 541 My Dear Husband, Thank You

Chapter 541 My Dear Husband, Thank You

With 'surprise' written all over his face, he looked at Carla as he carried her in his arms. He wasn't

expecting to hear something like that at all, so he asked, "Did I use to cook for you before?"

Now, Terence was wondering just how much he had pampered her in the past. Never in his wildest This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

dreams had he thought that he would ever cook for a woman!

Unable to hold back her laughter, Carla replied, "Yes! You used to cook three meals a day for us when

we were still living together in BH City. When we moved to JA City, you would still prepare some meals

from time to time."

When they got to the room, Carla went down from his arms and opened the door to check on Sally.

However, Sally was nowhere to be found when she walked in, so she turned around to ask Terence,

"Where is Sally?"

Terence simply answered, "Don't worry. She's just sleeping in the next room."

Hearing his response, Carla anxiously blurted out, "What? No! She can't sleep by herself! During these

past three years, she has barely even left my side at all. I think I'd better bring her here so she can

sleep right next to me!" Carla looked so worried as she told him that.

Truth be told, she herself had actually been so used to sleeping with Sally in her arms in the past three

years. For that reason, the thought of sleeping without Sally made her feel so strange.

"Sally is already three years old now. I think she's big enough to sleep on her own. Besides, Sophie is

gonna be looking after her at night. So, there's no need for you to worry about her,"

Terence said in total disagreement with Carla's opinion. The way he saw it, Carla only had to sleep

together with Sally because there were only two of them back then.

But now, things were a bit different than before. So, Terence thought that it would be a bit too crowded

if the three of them all slept together in the same bed. But most importantly, he always felt a bit

uncomfortable having another person lying between him and Carla.

In spite of what he said, Carla still couldn't help but worry a little, so she quickly changed into her

pajamas and went to the next room to check up on her.

When she saw Sally lying on the bed by herself and sleeping soundly, she was able to feel a sense of

relief.

All throughout these past three years, Sally had been by her side every night. So, truth be told, she was

actually having qualms about not sleeping together with her daughter.

When Carla went back to their own bedroom, she found out that Terence wasn't there.

So, she just waited there until he returned. And after a few minutes, Terence walked in with a bowl of

noodles in his hand.

"It's been a while since I last cooked something, so I'm not sure whether it will taste good or not. Go

ahead and try it! Eat it while it's still hot."

Putting down her mobile phone on the bedside table, Carla looked at the bowl of noodles he was

handing over to her. She was left utterly dumbfounded for a moment there. She wasn't really expecting

for Terence to actually go and cook something for her.

"My dear husband... Thank you."

According to the way he was now, Carla assumed that he wouldn't have bothered preparing it himself.

When they went back from BH City last time, she knew well that Terence had his hands full with

running the business. Because of that, she rarely ever asked anything of him.

"Go ahead! Eat it!" Terence urged as he handed her a pair of chopsticks. In truth, he felt somewhat

uncomfortable that the smell of the noodles filled the air in the room.

But the second he heard Carla call him "husband", he instantly felt warm, thinking that all of his efforts

were totally worth it.

He started to think that this woman wasn't as overbearing as he was making her out to be. She

probably had her reasons for acting the way she did, completely aware of what she was doing as she

dealt with things around her.

He more or less guessed that maybe he really irritated her before, and that was why she was being

mean to him at that time.

Grabbing the chopsticks, Carla went ahead and slurped the noodles. Although it was a bit on the salty

side, she was so overjoyed. She instantly decided that she should finish it all up and just drink enough

water later before going to sleep.

To be fair, he hadn't really been into the kitchen in the past four years, so she still considered what he

prepared for her a well-done job.

By the time she was done eating, Terence had also finished taking a bath to freshen up.

"How was it? Was it any good?" Terence asked.

"Yes, of course! Aunt Laura was the one who taught you how to cook after all, so I'm sure it couldn't

taste bad!" Carla replied, beaming him a bright smile.

She then got up and went to the bathroom to get washed up. After a while, she was also ready to go to

sleep.

As soon as she stepped out of the bathroom, Terence couldn't wait to hold her in his arms, giving her a

devilish grin. Seeing this, all Carla could do was smile helplessly, thinking, 'He's still the same Terence

from back then, alright! Nothing has changed at all when it comes to fooling around!

This was probably what he had in mind when he took Sally to the next room!'

Meanwhile, Lucy was holding her baby as she sat in the hotel's bed. Stuck in that small room, she truly

felt so alone.

She gently shook her daughter, who still wouldn't fall asleep no matter what she did, as she cradled her

in her arms. The incessant cries of her daughter was driving her crazy.

For two years, she had been by Terence's side. Who would've thought that that woman would re-

appear without a warning and take everything away from her so quickly, including her role as Terence's

wife?

From the very start, she knew that role was never really hers. Still, it would never be easy to let go of

something one had already gotten used to.

"Don't cry! Stop!" she yelled at the innocent child.

Gail, Lucy's daughter, seemed to be feeling her mother's anxiety. Because of that, she was so restless

and wouldn't stop crying.

Out of her frustration, Lucy threw her one-year-old daughter who had been sobbing nonstop in her

arms, onto the bed. Then, she proceeded to run her fingers through her hair in a somewhat disturbing

manner.

Actually, Rainer came by earlier that day to check up on Lucy and Gail and took them to the hospital. In

the end, the doctor simply said that there was nothing wrong with Gail, so Rainer left as soon as they

got the results.

It should go without saying that the little baby started crying even louder after being thrown by her

mother from out of the blue. She quickly rolled over and crawled her way to her mother's arm and cried

out, "Mommy, Mommy..."

Gail was only one year old, so she couldn't say anything yet aside from the word "Mommy".

Seeing her daughter's reaction, Lucy completely lost it and burst out in anger, "Gail, can't you see?

Your father abandoned us! Crying isn't gonna help! It won't turn things back to the way they were! He

can't hear you!"

Grabbing Gail's arm, she continued mouthing off, "His biological daughter has come back! That means

he doesn't need us anymore! We're useless to him!

All men are ingrates! Your biological father walked out on us early on, and just when I was about to

lose hope, Terence came into my life...

That time, I thought that I could finally have a chance to redeem myself from all of the shame I

experienced before and prove to everyone that I'm not an unwanted woman!

To prove that I'm also capable of marrying the most honorable man in all of JA City!" Lucy screamed at

the top of her lungs as tears welled up in her eyes, shaking her head in disappointment.

"But nothing but a dream now! I ended up with nothing! And because of that, I will become the

laughingstock of everyone again!"

Lucy slowly clenched her fist, fuming with intense rage. At that moment, thoughts about the past two

years she spent with Terence began flooding her mind. During that time, she lived quite a luxurious life

in the Seaview Villa, and Terence treated her and Gail really nicely as well.

The more she remembered these things, the more alienated she felt!

"Wasn't that woman supposed to be dead already? Why did she have to come back alive and take

everything important to me?"

Gail, you could have been the apple of Terence's eye! But now you have no choice but to suffer along

with your pitiful single mother!"

Lucy yelled as she pinched her daughter's cheek with quite a scornful smile.

When she came to know Terence, she actually felt glad that she didn't go through with the abortion.

Because at the end of the day, her daughter was the only thing that caught Terence's attention.

In the past two years, Terence became a bit closer to her because Gail was there. She imagined that

when her daughter got a little older, her relationship with Terence was bound to become more and

more intimate in time.

But the beautiful dream she used to have was completely shattered.

"Gail, can you tell me what I'm supposed to do now? I can't let it end like this! I'm not willing to give up

so easily! Gail, tell me! What should I do?!"

Lucy kept asking her daughter who was only one year old.

Looking at her daughter's miserable appearance, she slowly lifted her daughter into her arms and

continued, "Gail, if that wretched witch and her daughter were to die, will your father pay attention to us

again?

If the two of them are gone, then Terence would have only one daughter, and that's you! Then, I'm sure

that it won't be long before I can give birth to a boy for your father. And in the end, we'll finally have a

place we can truly call our home and live a happy life, right?"

Lucy mumbled to herself. But this seemed to have only made the baby cry even louder.

Back at the Seaview Villa, Carla was already fast asleep.

She was out like a light, but inside her dream, she was feeling so uneasy.

In that dream, she was hopelessly drifting in the boundless sea, and no matter where she looked, she

could not see the edge.

In that moment, she felt like she was going to continue drifting there aimlessly. She didn't know if she

would be able to see dry land ever again. And as if that wasn't bad enough, she was hit by a heavy

downpour. Moments later, she started shivering, fearing for her life, before finally waking up in cold

sweat.

"Are you alright? Were you having a bad dream?"

Terence worriedly asked as he held her shoulders when she woke up shivering all over.
