Millie frowned in anger, demanding in a hushed tone, “Are you threatening me?”
James and Paisley quickly rose to see them off.
With a forceful kick, the private room door slammed shut, separating them. Winston lowered his head to gaze at the woman in his arms, his eyes growing colder.
“Good for you to realize that.”
Millie tried to struggle. She wanted to free herself from his embrace, but Winston held her even tighter. She frowned, and suddenly, realization dawned upon her.
“Greer Group doesn’t even need that land. You’re deliberately targeting Simon, aren’t you?” Millie questioned.
“Deliberately targeting him? He’s not even worthy of that!” Winston spat, his voice sharp with disdain.
Millie glared at him. “Let go of me!”
Yet, Winston paid no heed to her request and pressed the elevator button. When a server saw him, he respectfully greeted him, “Hello, Mr. Greer.”
“Let go now!” Millie felt increasingly annoyed.
Finally, when the elevator doors opened, Winston released her. However, before Millie could even straighten her clothes, he had pressed her against the comer.

le towered over her and blocked out all the light, Winston frowned at Millie, his expression stem and filled with an indescribable rage.
Millie knew her support for Simon had sparked his fury. Though Winston didn’t love her, he would never tolerate his wife helping other men. He would feel that she was trampling on his pride and challenging him.
Since no one pressed the floor button, the elevator stayed on the sixth floor and showed no signs of descending.
Millie pursed her lips and explained truthfully, “I was just putting in a good word for a friend. Before this, I was unaware that you were competing with Simon for that land.” Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
“And now you know,” Winston said as he stared into her eyes. He was eager to hear what else she might say in defense of Simon.
Millie lifted her head to glare at him. “Yes, now I know. So what?” She couldn’t fathom why he was being so aggressive.
Their relationship was about to end, so what gave him the right to mistreat her time and time again?
Winston observed Millie’s defiant expression. He realized she didn’t know what she had done wrong and almost chuckled in amusement.
He stepped forward and swallowed hard. He lowered his voice as he spoke, “Despite knowing that I’m

competing with him, you continued to speak up for him.”
Millie chuckled. A faint light from above briefly Illuminated her face, revealing her delicate features as she looked up at Winston.

“Mr. Greer, are you jealous that I spoke up for him?” she asked in a cochmanding tone.
Winston pursed his lips. Fixing his gaze on Millie’s slightly parted red lips, he sensed a wave of inner turmoil.
“Jealous? You’re not even worthy of my jealousy!” he declared through gritted teeth.
In an instant, a gloom crossed Millie’s beautiful face. She was indeed undeserving of his jealousy. That was because jealousy implied love, yet he had no feelings for her.
“So, what does it have to do with you if I speak up for someone? Why are you mad about it, Mr. Greer?” Millie asked in a light and teasing tone.
With her eyebrows arched, she exuded an irresistible charm. She was breathtakingly beautiful.
→ Winston sneered, unconcerned. “We haven’t announced our divorce yet. If word
is doing favors for another man, it’ll tarnish my reputation!”

“Oh.” Millie nodded, seemingly understanding. “So, Mr. Greer, you’re just afraid outsiders will think I’ve cheated on you.”
Winston gnash his teeth in frustration. Millie then taunted, “Why don’t I make your worst fear come true?”
She tilted her head and twirled a strand of hair around her finger. Her eyes were blazing with defiance, and Winston found her indifferent attitude truly infuriating.
With fists clenched and a frosty glint in his eyes, Winston almost snarled, “Don’t you even dare, Millie Caldwell!”
At that very moment, the elevator doors suddenly opened. A customer wanted to enter, but when he caught sight of Winston, he hesitated momentarily.
