It was already 1:00 am when Winston returned to his villa. He removed his jacket and loosened his tie. Right then, he realized the house was eerily quiet. So, he checked the rooms, but Millie was nowhere. to be found.
Frowning, he took out his phone to text her. But suddenly, he noticed an unsent message from before. Winston realized he was still blocked on Millie’s various platforms.
For the first time, he felt that relationships were truly complicated.
Winston lay on the bed while scrolling through Instagram. Lately, Jake had been enjoying the nightlife, always surrounded by beautiful women.
Winston kindly left a comment on Jake’s Instagram post, “Take care of your kidneys
Jake promptly replied, “The night is still young. Come join us, Winston!”
> Winston sighed and set his phone aside.
The next morning, Winston was awakened by Eli’s call.
“Mr. Greer, I have bad news.”
Winston’s eyes remained closed, too exhausted to keep them open. “Cut to the chase.”
Eli reported, “Hackers breached Greer Group’s main office. They’ve taken control of the building’s power. Now, the employees can’t clock in and are stranded outside the entrance.”
Winston opened his eyes immediately. He slowly sat up with a frown and sought confirmation, “We’ve been hacked?”
Greer Group’s security was top–notch, so how could someone breach it? Who had the skill to pull off such an attack?
up of nurses
At the hospital, Millie had just stepped into the elevator when she overheard a group gossiping.
“Did you hacked!” one of them exclaimed.
hear? Greer Group’s system not
Someone asked, “Is this true?”
“It is! The news broke just now, but they’ve suppressed it.”
“Oh, my! It must be their rivals, right? I can’t believe even Mr. Greer is facing a setback.”
“Putting that aside, can you imagine how much money Greer Group will lose if they can’t operate for a day?”
The corners of Millie’s mouth curled into a smirk, and a hint of indifference flashed across her eyes as
she listened to them. Winston deserved it. It was the price he had to pay.
I’ve got another scoop. Are you guys interested?
The nurses then continued their hushed discussion.
Upon hearing those words, Millie’s curiosity was piqued, too. She took a step back and listened in to their conversation.
“You’re all aware that Mr. Greer is competing for the land near the airport, right?” the young nurse asked. “Well, my brother’s in the industry. He said Mr. Greer is determined to get that land because he wants to build a manor for Ms. Lowell!”
Millie frowned slightly. She couldn’t help but recall what Marvin asked her the night before, “Do you know what that asshole plans to do with that land?”
One of the nurses appeared bewildered and asked, “Are you sure?”
The young nurse nodded with certainty, affirming that the gossip was true.
As the elevator doors opened, Millie felt her heart sink. It turned out Winston was so determined to secure the land near the airport to build a manor for Joanna.
Joanna was indeed fond of manors. Even her brother had built several for her.
Millie finally understood why Winston had lost control of his emotions the previous night. If she were to persuade James to grant the land to Simon, wouldn’t Winston lose the opportunity to impress his unforgettable first love?
Millie found it ironic when she thought about it. She had almost believed that Winston was jealous because she was getting too close to Simon. Now, in hindsight, she realized she was truly unworthy of his jealousy.

Millie entered the department, everyone was discussing these two matters.
Joanna was in her seat. Initially, she was beaming, but as soon as she saw Millie, her face fell instantly. She was visibly unhappy
Nevertheless, Millie couldn’t be bothered with her and returned to her workstation. Moments later, she received a message from Marvin.
“Boss, that asshole has found someone to crack our system.
Millie narrowed her eyes. Then, she opened a mysterious system on her phone. It was her hacking system
Once the software loaded, a message popped up “Greetings, the great M.”
