Chapter 471
Chapter 471
For Ronald's family, the only one Cordelia had a bit of a good impression of was her Uncle Ronald.
Now, Ronald was thin and walked with a slight limp.
"You really live here? Samantha and her mom are filming at Birchwood College. I came to check it out.
They said you're teaching here, so I asked about your residence and came over," Ronald said.
Cordelia ushered her uncle into the room.
"Who's this little fella?" Ronald didn't recognize Callum.
"Well, a colleague's kid," Cordelia brushed it off.
Ronald looked around her home as Cordelia went to pour him a glass of water. "Cordelia, how come
you disappeared for years without a word? Are you having a fallout with Ronan?" Ronald asked.
At the mention of "Ronan", Callum, who had been reading, suddenly froze. He was listening intently,
but pretended to be flipping through the pages.
Cordelia paused as she poured the water, "No, I was super busy abroad, barely had time to sleep."
"Ah, so much has changed over the years. Your mom passed away, who would've thought Samantha
would become a star, but she did. I visited your mom's grave recently, you know? As you get older, you
start missing the past. When I was back in Roseville cleaning the house, I found some old photos of me
and your mom." Ronald wiped a tear from his eye and pulled out the photos from his bag.
"Uh-huh, I know, I saw the flowers on my mom's grave," Cordelia said, taking the photos from Ronald.
As she looked through the photos of her uncle and mom from their younger days, Cordelia thought of
Shelley and her eyes welled up with tears.
"Your mom's death was so tragic, pushed from a building. It breaks my heart to think about it, how
unfair it all was. If it wasn't for Ronan..." Ronald rubbed his head, voice choked with emotion, "Good
thing you divorced him, he's cold-blooded, a snake."
"Don't talk about my dad like that!" Callum stood up angrily, glaring at Ronald, "You're lying!"
Ronald was taken aback. This was Ronan's son? So was this little guy Cordelia's son?
"Is... is this your son?" Ronald asked.
Cordelia frowned slightly. It seemed like this secret wouldn't stay a secret for much longer.
Callum stared at Cordelia in shock, "You... you're my mom?"
Ronald was stunned, he asked Cordelia, "He doesn't know?"
Callum was visibly excited but also overwhelmed.
Just as Cordelia was about to respond, there was a knock on the door. It was Harold, with a bag in his
hand. Cordelia guessed it might be eggs and tart shells. "Why are you here? Where's Sally?" Cordelia
asked, peeking out the door. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
"Well, she bought these. Someone asked her to a concert, so she asked me to deliver this," Harold
said.
Just then, Cordelia's phone rang. It was Sally. "Hey, Ms. Haselwood, has Harold delivered the stuff? I
got invited to a concert, so I asked Harold to do it. He delivered it, right?" Sally hurriedly said.
"Yes, it's here." Cordelia felt that Sally was always doing things like this, not very reliable. Cordelia
reminded her, "Remember, nine o'clock the day after tomorrow. Don't forget, or I'll have to drag you out
of bed."
"I know, I won't forget, Ms. Haselwood," Sally said and hung up.
Seeing Ronald, Harold asked, "Who is this?"
"Well, this is my Uncle, Ronald. This is my student, Harold," Cordelia replied.
