The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 482

Chapter 482

"I'll send you guys back to the university. Ms. Haselwood will be staying here for a few more days. In a

few days, I'll go to Birchwood with her," said Ronan.

Sally and Sean exchanged glances. "Sure, I'll drop Ms. Haselwood a call before we leave," said Sally.

Ronan knew why she wanted to call: to make sure Cordelia was fine and not in any danger.

Throughout their stay, Cordelia had never discussed her relationship with Ronan which had led to their

suspicion. He kept quiet and agreed.

Around 9 o'clock, Sally and Sean were ready to leave.

Sally dialed Cordelia's number.

After what seemed like eternity, Cordelia picked up, feeling unwell and feverish, her voice hoarse,

"Hello?" She sounded confused.

"Ms. Haselwood, we were supposed to leave today. Professor Evans said he'll have someone send us

back to the university and that you should rest today. Take care," Sally said.

Cordelia, feeling dizzy, hardly registered Sally's words. She hummed in response and hung up, falling

back asleep.

Janice took Callum out for the day, leaving Ronan alone at home. He didn't go to work but instead,

stayed in his room, reading.

Cordelia woke up around 2 in the afternoon. Ronan had already eaten lunch and Callum was taking a

nap. Cordelia was disoriented. Ronan was leaning against the bed, reading, the heavy curtains drawn.

"You awake?" Ronan asked, noticing her stir.

"What time is it?" she asked, still groggy.

"Two."

"Two in the morning?"

"No, the afternoon," Ronan said without looking up.

Cordelia frowned, remembering the call from Sally in the morning. "They've left?"

"Yes."

Cordelia sat up abruptly, "What must they think of me?"

Ronan ignored her, continuing with his reading.

Cordelia tried to get up but her body ached too much. She thought, maybe it will get better after a

while.

She lay back down, drifting back to sleep. Once she woke up, the pain was still unbearable. She

thought, maybe she should see a doctor tomorrow?

Naturally, her thoughts drifted to Victoria. It had been three years since she last saw her. She wondered

how Victoria was doing.

The pain kept Cordelia in bed, even skipping dinner.

With Alana's threat, Cordelia had been having restless nights. But last night, despite being exhausted,

seemed to be the only deep sleep she's had in three years, probably because he was with her.

Ronan thought she was just being lazy and sulking, so he asked Janice to serve her dinner in bed.

Callum came to play with her for a while. Cordelia adored Callum, constantly stroking his hair.

After dinner, Ronan was lounging on the couch downstairs when his assistant called.

"Mr. Evans, we found out that the person with Cordelia is named Eason. He's a renowned psychologist

and founder of a well-known clinic in England. They maintained a close relationship for a year, visiting

each other frequently," the assistant reported. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

"So, Cordelia had mental illness?" Ronan asked.

"Yes, she had severe depression in the first year," the assistant confirmed.

Ronan fell silent.
