Chapter 122 Can We Stop Doing This
Chapter 122 Can We Stop Doing This
The elevator stopped on the second floor and a man came in. Ella immediately came up with an
idea,"Excuse me, can you tell me where Ms. Gu's office is?" She grinned while staring at the man.
Ella was an attractive woman and she totally knew how to use it to her advantage. The man was
thrilled to be accosted by such a pretty girl and soon told her what she wanted to know.
"Thanks, handsome!" He was even more excited to be called "handsome" by Ella. That was enough to
show off in front of his colleagues when he went back to his desk and tell them the kind of romance that
he had come across.
Ella pushed the button to the 13th floor as the man told her. And when the elevator door opened again,
Ella walked out and followed the sign pointing towards Emma's office.
There were two people talking to each other outside the office, and neither of them noticed Ella
sneaking through the corridor.
Ella then saw a sign reading Office of Inspector General. She was about to knock when she suddenly
realised that Emma didn't deserve the courtesy at all.
Therefore, Ella turned the knob and pushed the door open.
Maybe Emma and Felix were too focused on what they were doing that neither of them noticed the
door opening.
Ella heard a weird noise and she didn't realise what it was at first. Not until she saw what was
happening in Emma's office. Her jaw dropped open in shock.
They both had their backs facing the door and so they had no clue that there was an intruder.
Feeling rather sick, Ella retrieved her phone and quickly took a picture of them.
Then she sneaked out of the room as silently as how she got in. And she tried to go back to the
elevator without attracting any attention.
"Who are you?" Unfortunately, Ella was spotted by Emma's assistant before she could make it to the
elevator.
Ella could almost hear her heart beating crazily all of a sudden. She took a deep breath in her mind and
told herself to stay very calm.
Then she turned around with a polite smile and ran toward the assistant,"I'm here for... Jerry. But it
seems I got off on the wrong floor." Ella answered with her eyes drifting around nervously. She was too
scared to make eye contact with Emma's assistant.
The assistant, however, hadn't seen Ella opening Emma's office door earlier. And it was natural that
she should fully buy Ella's story except for one question.
"Jerry? I've never heard of anyone with that name here."
"Well, he's new here. I'll take another look. Never mind me. Sorry for the interruption though." Ella was
playing nice and polite as if she simply had been looking for someone named Jerry in the building. The
assistant didn't ask further and let her go.
Dashing into the elevator, Ella finally let out a deep sigh of relief. Damn! That was close! Emma would
have killed her if she found out what Ella had done. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Now that she had something on Emma, Ella was thrilled as she stepped out of the elevator.
She was too excited about what she just saw that she totally forgot the fact that she had been stopped
by the receptionist earlier and she was not supposed to show up in the elevator.
"Hey! I thought you had left. Why are you coming out of that elevator?" The receptionist hurried to grab
Ella.
She was caught. But Ella came up with an idea almost instantly. Feigning pain, she clutched her belly
with her hands and moaned,"I'm so sorry. My stomach was aching, so I went to use the toilet. I'll leave
at once!"
Ella was a good actress. Though the receptionist looked at her doubtfully, she said nothing and simply
let Ella leave.
In Emma's office.
The smell still hung in the air even though they had done their business. The man had already fully
dressed. He cast a casual look at the woman who was still reclining on the sofa limply. He said nothing
but simply left a cheque on her desk before leaving.
"Mr. Fei. My mother has gone back to America. I don't need your money anymore. Can we stop doing
this?" Emma struggled weakly to stop Felix as he walked toward the door.
Felix's lips curled into a sneer. He didn't look back at Emma or say anything. He just walked directly out
of her office.
Emma managed to walk to the restroom and sit on the toilet. Tears began to fall down her cheeks.
Twenty minutes later.
Emma put her clothes back on and reapplied her makeup neatly, cleaned her office and opened the
window before sending for her assistant.
"Are you done with the report?" asked Emma calmly.
Nothing seemed unusual. So the assistant simply placed the report on Emma's desk.
Right after she was about to leave the office, the assistant suddenly remembered the call from the
receptionist. Then she turned back to Emma and said,"Ms. Gu, there was a woman named Ella looking
for you."
Ella? Emma frowned and wondered what had brought Ella here.
Then her heart jolted as she thought of what just happened right in her office. "Where's she now? Did
she come up here?"
The assistant shook her head,"No. You were in the meeting with Mr. Fei, so I told the receptionist to
turn her down."
Emma sighed in relief and braced her forehead with her hand weakly,"I see. You can go now!"
In the meeting? Emma let out a bitter smile. She really wanted to get rid of Felix for good. She never
thought he would follow her all the way from America.
And the first thing he did when he saw her was to...
The thought was too painful. Emma collapsed on her desk desperately. How could she ever be free
from Felix and Drake?
In Ella's BMW.
She tried to call and tell Samuel what kind of woman Emma really was, and she hoped he would be
done with her for good.
But Samuel didn't pick up his phone, no matter how many times she called.
Flashing back to what Catherine had said earlier, Ella sped up toward Samuel's office.
"Mr. Shao is still in his private break room..."
Ella felt like losing control every time she thought of the sentence Catherine hadn't finish.
It was about twenty minutes later when Ella finally arrived at Samuel's office. She parked her car in a
rush and didn't even notice her car was occupying two parking spaces. She couldn't care less about
her car at the moment. She got out of her car and hurried upstairs.
There were lots of people greeting her along her way to Samuel's office,"Mrs. Shao."
"Yes."
"Hello, Mrs. Shao."
"Hello." Everyone there knew she was Samuel's wife so no one stopped her. Ella soon got into the
elevator and reached the 68th floor.
"Ding!" As the elevator door opened, Ella wasted no time and dashed into Samuel's office.
Anna was wondering why Ella was in a hurry when she saw her running. But she hadn't got the chance
to ask her since Ella pushed in the office with a mission.
Ella banged on the door and headed to Samuel's personal break room inside his office.
Ella pushed open the door and saw something that made her furious.
Hearing the noise coming from the door behind, Samuel looked over his shoulder to see what was
going on.
Did he just see Ella standing by the door? Then who was the one he was on top of?
Confused, Samuel turned back and looked down at the person in his arms. To his huge surprise, it was
Catherine.
Clenched by Samuel, Catherine was staring right back at him. And then she called out with her
vulnerable voice,"Mr. Shao..."
Samuel jumped out of the bed, pulling Catherine to the ground as well. Then he shouted at her,"Get the
hell out of here!"
He then tried to shake off the dizziness in his head. Luckily, both of them still had their clothes on, or he
wouldn't know how to explain the situation to Ella.
Sitting on the ground, Catherine was in pain and tried hard to catch her breath.
Damn this man! Did he know anything about the proper way to treat a woman?
Losing his balance, Samuel staggered to Ella and tried to grab her hands. But Ella threw his hand off.
Then she walked to Catherine, who was reclining on the ground helplessly with tears in her eyes. Ella
looked at her for a while and then slapped her hard right on her cheek.
"Ah!" Letting out a terrified scream, Catherine turned her face sideways as Ella's palm landed on that
side of her cheek.
Her right hand on the ground, clutched at the rug tightly.
"Ella! Ella! Who do you think you are! How dare you slap me like this! You are dead meat!"
To hide the outrage burning in her eyes, Catherine lowered her head and let the tears ran down her
cheeks.
