Wife by Day, Boss by Night

Chapter 154

Chapter 154

Brian felt her gaze and turned around, giving her a cursory glance. In that moment of eye contact, he

asked in a low voice, “Want some water?”

He was still in the midst of a meeting, and Natalie glanced at his computer screen without a word.

Suddenly, Brian took off his headset, stood up, and fetched a cup of warm water with the pink thermos

he had brought, placing it on the nightstand.

Natalie didn’t drink. After a few seconds, he picked up the cup and held it to her lips, saying softly, “My

patience has limits.”

Especially when he was alone with Natalie.

During the two minutes Brian was away, the office on the other end of the video call exploded.

When Brian stood up, he accidentally tilted his laptop, revealing the view of Natalie’s bedside

to the video conference.

“See that pink cup?”

“We’re not blind, you know! And did you see the long hair?”

“It’s kind of long, chestnut, and slightly curly, not Ms. Harris or Ms. Wright.”

“The point isn’t who it is! The point is the boss is personally getting her water and even helping her

drink!”

“Too bad the boss took off his headset, we can’t hear anything, or we could guess who she

is.”

After taking a few sips, Natalie whispered to Brian, “I can manage on my own. You don’t need to stay at

the hospital. Maybe Sadie could…”

“I don’t need your instructions on what I want to do.” Brian cut her off softly. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

Natalie looked up, locking eyes with him. She was irritated. Wasn’t he afraid Madelyn would find out

and get jealous?

“Isn’t this a time Ms. Harris needs you?” she asked pointedly. Before she could finish, Brian cupped her

chin, leaned down, and kissed her, silencing her words with his lips.

Her body was weak, and her attempts to push him away felt more like flirtation, seemingly coy and

inviting.

Taking a deep breath, Brian’s eyes held a dash of crimson as he moved closer to Natalie, his hand

gently supporting her neck and shoulder.

She didn’t know how long they had been entangled when out of the corner of her eye, Natalie saw their

kissing image on the laptop screen. Her face wasn’t visible, but Brian’s leaning

posture was unmistakably intimate!

She gasped and quickly turned her face away, whispering urgently, “The computer caught us!”

Brian glanced back and saw a bunch of onlookers on the video call, who quickly looked away when

they realized they’d been spotted.

His connection with Madelyn was strictly work–related, leaving him confused by Natalie’s unfounded

implications.
