Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 101

Chapter 101 My Willingness is What Matters

Nigel knew that Maia only saw him as a friend, but he was willing to wait. He hoped that with time and effort, she would eventually see him as a man. He would do anything to make it happen.

“You know that I'll only do what’s best for you. The issue here isn’t distancing yourself from him. He's the one that keeps coming back to you.”

Nigel looked at her with a serious face and said, “The best way to solve this once and for all is to marry me.”

Maia did not want to hurt him because he had such a sincere look in his eyes. Rejecting him would seem too cruel. However, she did not want to give him false hope.

“Nigel, |-”

“Let me finish. | know you don’t love me. Unfortunately, Cedric is a powerful man. You could not get rid of him that easily. If you're married to someone else, that would stop his advances for good!”

Maia drew her lips into a fine line as she thought hard. This would seem like a solution to her problem.

Nigel continued to persuade her, “I’m not trying to take advantage of you. After we’ve wed, you don’t need to do anything for me. We'll only be married on paper.

“| won't force you into anything else, but | promise I'll take good care of you. You might think that this is a bad idea, but it would work.”

“Nigel, this isn’t fair to you. You know how | feel about you.” “| know. You only think of me as a friend, but | don’t care. Besides, nothing is fair in life,” Nigel refuted. “But | don’t wish to burden you with my problems. You've been such a great friend to me.”

Nigel smiled. “I would only benefit from this arrangement. If you're willing to marry me, I'd be able to spend more time with you. Maybe you'll learn how to love me eventually.

“Since no one can predict the future, how would you know if it’s fair to me? Maia, I’m not forcing you into anything, but you should think about it.

Nigel's willingness to be involved in this was all that mattered. Maia nodded, sincerely thanking him. “Silly girl, there’s no need to thank me.” He smiled gently at her.

Minutes later, they were on their way back to Starlight Entertainment. Nigel was still worried

After Maia got to her office, Nigel did not leave. Instead, he waited for her outside her room. Maia entered her office and turned on the lights.

She felt she could think more clearly when she was alone. She immediately began scribbling on a note as she remembered what Nigel had said to her.

Maia folded it and put it in her pocket as she left her room. She took along a random file that was on her table.

“Nigel, I’m going back to my aunt's. | can get there on my own, so there’s no need to trouble you further. You should get some rest too.”

“Not at all. Let me send you there. Come now, let’s go.” Nigel would not give Maia a chance to turn down his offer, as he immediately caught the elevator and ushered her in. He drove her back to Tess’s place. When Maia got to her aunt's residence, Nigel still made no move to leave.

“Nigel, thank you so much for everything you've done for me. I’m sure you're busy, so please get home early and get some rest. Thank you for the gifts too.”

“Maia, enough with thanking me already! You're making me feel bad now.” Nigel joked.

“Sorry, I’m just really grateful for all that you’ve done for me.” She grinned sheepishly. She knew that this was because she only felt grateful for his help.

“Right. Go on, I'll see you off.”

Maia nodded and went into the building. However, she did not enter the elevator. Instead, she took out her cell phone and read the messages Baz had sent her.

“Ms. Maia, Mr. Cedric isn’t in a good mood; he keeps drinking! We couldn’t stop him.”

“He’s not supposed to be drinking. It’s not good for his wound.

“Ms. Maia, please help us! Mr. Cedric still refuses to allow anyone to dress his wound.”

Maia bit her lower lip and looked out the window from the walkway. When she was sure that Nigel had left, she took off toward the entrance of the apartment.

She got to a nearby pharmacy and bought some items for Cedric’s wound. Then, she flagged a cab and left for Prismara Hill. “Prismara Hill? Are you sure, miss?” The cab driver asked.

Maia nodded.

He was confused but turned around and drove in that direction. “Miss, may | ask what business you have there?”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

“I'm just sending something over.” Maia felt the need to take some responsibility as Cedric was injured because of Nigel. O The driver tried to warn her, but her reply surprised him.

“Miss, there’s an unbelievably rich and powerful person who lives there. Are you perhaps trying your luck? | suggested you rethink your choice.”

‘Luck? How ironic.’ Maia just smiled and said, “Don’t worry. | would never do that. Please, drive safely. | need to get there as soon as possible.”

Maia wanted to get this done. She did not want anyone else to know about her presence at Prismara Hill. She has had enough drama in her life.
