Chapter 382
Chapter 382
As a woman, the secretary knew her current pressure very well.
The secretary arranged the things and the documents neatly. "Call me if you need anything."
Then she left the office. The room instantly quieted down.
She breathed hard, suppressed all the fear and uneasiness, and picked up a document to read...
Perhaps being devoted to something could make people forget all worries for a while. Time seemed to
pass faster, and a day had passed unconsciously.
Jacob came to pick up Arya when she got off work.
The Deputy drove the car. Jacob was in the passenger seat, and Arya was in the back seat.
She looked very calm as if the person who couldn't control her temper during the day wasn't her at all.
Jacob looked at her in the rear-view mirror.
She disguised herself so well that Jacob could not tell her current emotions and thoughts.
Through the neon lights, the car drove into a more prosperous and lively area.
Soon the car stopped in front of a Chinese food restaurant. Jacob secretly found out that Liam would
eat here tonight.
Jacob asked Arya to wait inside the car and he went in to have a look.
Arya agreed softly and leaned against the window, looking out of the window absent-mindedly.
After a while, Jacob came over and Arya rolled down the car window. He whispered to Arya, "He's
inside. Rufus is there too."
Arya was not surprised. If Rufus had no one to help him now, he couldn't do anything big.
Arya pushed open the door and came down. "Let's go in."
Jacob and the Deputy followed behind her.
"He won't see us. Someone is guarding the door of the box. We can't get in." Jacob whispered.
Arya looked back at him. Was it that easy to see a gang leader?
Of course, she knew it wasn't. but she had bargaining chips.
As long as she could see him, she could convince Liam to hand Rufus over. Of course, Rufus was just
a cover. Their real target was the person behind all this.
This Chinese restaurant was located in the city center, but it was difficult to make a reservation here. It
only served people of higher status. Jacob had already arranged it and they could enter, but it was
difficult to enter Liam's room.
Arya didn't want to break in and waited outside.
He would come out after dinner anyway.
Arya sat in the chair. Jacob asked someone to pour her a glass of water. Arya held the glass and did
not drink the water inside. Instead, she looked at it carefully, as if it was an interesting thing.
After about half an hour, the door of the private room was pushed open and Liam came out. Besides
two bodyguards, there were two people beside him. On the left was Rufus, and on the right was a very
charming woman. The woman held Liam's arm.
Hearing the noise, Arya looked up and saw the person coming out. After glancing at Rufus, her eyes
fell on the woman beside Liam.
Bella quietly tightened her grip on the man beside her, not even looking at Arya.
Arya didn't call her impetuously or show that she knew her.
Rufus twitched the corner of his eyes with a hint of malice.
Just as Jacob was about to step forward, Arya grabbed him and clenched his arm. She was afraid that
Jacob would be impulsive when he saw Rufus.
Rufus whispered to Liam.
When the Gates Family got into trouble, he investigated Xavier. Naturally, he knew Arya's identity. He
saw her in the photo before, but this time in person. He looked at Arya.
Xavier was definitely a big shot in W City. Liam was curious about the woman he liked.
She was pretty. Liam didn't see any other charm except beauty.
He glanced at Rufus next to him. "You are so weak. You haven't beat Xavier once in so many years."
Rufus lowered his eyes and did not dare to refute.
Liam didn't take Arya seriously. "This restaurant isn't a good place to come anymore. All kinds of
people can come in."
He meant something.
"Wait..." Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
Seeing that they were leaving, Arya shouted.
