Chapter 385
Chapter 385
She suddenly caught sight of a bar at the nearby roadside with a neon sign shining outside the door, on
which wrote its name: Bar 11.
It reminded her of the thing Bella had handed her: 11.
Did they mean the same thing?
The Deputy started the car again as the traffic lights had changed into green. Without much
consideration, Arya said to the Deputy, "Drive the car across the road."
The Deputy followed her instruction.
Soon, the car drove on another road. Arya asked the Deputy to park the car when they were about a
few meters away from the bar.
Jacob followed her as she opened the door to get out of the car. "Where are you going? I'll go with
you."
Arya did not refuse. Actually, she didn't say anything. Jacob followed her into the bar.
It was very quiet with only two or three people sitting in the bar. A young man was sitting on a chair on
the round stage in the middle of the bar, who was singing a soft song as he played the guitar in his
arms...
Arya sat at the bar. The bartender asked her, "Can I help you, Miss?"
"Anything you recommend will do." Arya was busy looking around the bar, trying to find a clue.
But she couldn't.
The only connection between them was probably the same number.
Arya lowered her head. Was it just a coincidence? Did she think too much?
The bartender served her a shot. He pushed the glass in front of her. "This is our bar's specialty,
Lover's Tears."
Arya took a look at the shot. The white liquid was crystal clear without any impurity. Maybe that was the
reason why it was called "Tears".
Spinning her glass slowly, Arya asked unintentionally, "Do you have Box 11 here?"
The bartender smiled. "You must be an expert, Miss. Few people know that we have boxes here."
Arya smiled as well, whose eyes darkened. "Well, is Box 11 available now? I'd like to use it if it's okay."
It was just a question without thinking. She hadn't expected that there was indeed such a box here.
"I'm sorry, but that box has been booked for a long time."
Arya realized that she had probably guessed the right answer by mistake. She was sure that the box
had something to do with what she was holding.
"Oh, who's booked that? A man or a woman?" Arya asked.
The bartender stared at Arya. "You're not here to drink, are you?"
Jacob grabbed the bartender's hand and handed him some money. "We're here to drink. That's all."
The bartender stared at the two of them for a while. Finally, he bent down, whispering, "Box11 is
booked by a man, who comes here and stays in it for a while on the 18th of every month."
Arya turned to Jacob. Jacob said instinctively, "Tomorrow is the 18th."
The bartender stared at Arya. "Who are you?"
Jacob slapped the money on the bar counter. "Just customers."
Now that she had got the answer she wanted, Arya stood up and got ready to leave. Before she left,
she stared at the bartender as if she had thought of something. "We did nothing but have a drink here.
Do you understand what I mean?"
The bartender nodded. "Don't worry, we're not allowed to talk about what happened in the bar. I won't
say anything."
Arya nodded with satisfaction. After they walked out of the bar, Jacob asked, "Do you suspect that this
bar has something to do with what you got from Bella?"
Arya looked at him. "It's just a guess now."
She would wait till tomorrow and see what would happen.
Jacob walked ahead and helped her open the door. Arya bent over and sat in.
Not long after, the car stopped in front of the Old Residence.
Arya got out of the car and said to the Deputy and Jacob. "You guys go back first. You don't have to
pick me up tomorrow."
"Okay. If you need anything, contact me."
Arya nodded. Then she walked into the room.
Ryan was playing with Ramona with a toy beside the baby bed. Bridget sat aside, thinking about
something so concentratedly that she didn't even notice Arya coming in.
Ryan looked up at Arya. "Do you know what happened to auntie? She's been like this ever since I
came back."
"Arya... You're back." Bridget came back to her senses due to Ryan's voice.
Arya bent over to pick Ramona up, then sat on the sofa, and said to Bridget, "Why not go to see him?"
Compressing her lips, Bridget lowered her head. "No. All he said was a lie. How can a man tells you he
loves you and then marries someone else immediately?"
"Bridget, I'm not persuading you because I know relationship problems can only be solved by those
who are in that relationship. But think about it. How long has he been asking for your love? Have you
ever given him any hope? He got himself drunk as a lord when you married Jasper. He resigned and
began to run a restaurant because you said you didn't like doctors. You know, he wasn't good at
business. He was willing to change for you, but you wouldn't do the same for him. You didn't even give
him any hope. Everyone would feel tired. He would certainly give up when he went to the extreme."
Arya stared at Bridget. "Think it over. If you let him go this time, you will never get him."
A man like Edward was unlikely to divorce once he got married. It would only hurt one more person.
Arya stood up, reaching out to hold Ryan's hand. "Let's go and see what we'll eat today."
She had already said what she should say. The final decision was up to Bridget.
Ryan looked up at Arya. "Mommy."
"Yes?" Arya lowered her head. "What's wrong?"
Ryan waved at Arya, so she squatted down to look him in the eye.
Putting his arms around Arya's neck, Ryan kissed her on the face. "Mommy, I love you."
Arya was stunned for a moment. Then she reached out to touch his face. Didn't she love him the
same?
Daisy was standing at the kitchen door in an apron. Looking at Arya, who was squatting there, and the
kids in her arms and by her side, Daisy felt an urge to cry. She had intended to ask them to eat, but
now she turned around and went in.
Nanny May was about to ask her why she came back so soon when she saw Daisy standing there Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
facing the corner, whose shoulders were twitching.
Nanny May felt sad too. Lowering her head to wipe her face, she handed Daisy a piece of paper.
"Madam, wipe your tears, please. Ryan and Madam are here."
They would feel sad as well if they saw you crying.
Wiping the tears off her face, Daisy sniffed. "I couldn't hold it back..."
As she spoke, tears fell from her eyes again.
Nanny May didn't dare to look at her. She turned on the tap deliberately.
So that the sound of water running would cover everything.
The dinner was quiet. No one said anything. The delicious food tasted insipid for them.
"Arya, eat more. You're too skinny." Daisy, whose eyes were red, served Arya food. It was obvious that
she had cried.
Arya pretended that she didn't notice it. She tasted the food that Daisy had served her and pretended
to enjoy it, although she had no appetite at all and even wanted to vomit. "It must be cooked by Mom.
It's delicious."
Daisy continued to feed her. "Eat more if you like. Don't get too tired from work."
"I know... Excuse me, I'll get a glass of water." Arya stood up and left the dining room. She went to the
bathroom instead and stood in front of the mirror...
