Chapter 386
Chapter 386
The woman in the mirror was pale, and a thick layer of moisture was brewing in her eyes.
She wiped away the tears in her eyes and washed herself up. Then she walked out, poured a glass of
water, and walked back to the dining room. To pretend that she was fine, she smiled and asked Ryan,
"Do you want some water?"
Ryan shook his head.
No matter how well Arya pretended, at this time, it was still obvious that she was not fine. Daisy had not
much composure as Arya did and couldn't hold back her tears.
She covered her mouth and walked out of the dining room.
No one at the table had an appetite. Mr. Jones sighed and stood up. "I'll go and see her." RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Hardly anyone ate the meal.
Ramona was crying in the room. Just as Nanny May wanted to go, Arya stood up. "I'll go. You take care
of Ryan."
Arya walked into the room to pick Ramona up and kiss her face. "Are you hungry?"
When Arya picked her up, she stopped crying and lay quietly in Arya's arms.
Arya just held her and stood in front of the window, shaking her gently.
Upstairs, Mr. Jones stood in front of the window, and Daisy was sitting by the bed weeping.
"Can't you bear it in front of them?" Mr. Jones's voice was very soft, looking tired.
Daisy wiped her face. "I don't want to either. I can't help it..."
Originally, everyone was upset. Nobody could eat after she cried.
"Tidy yourself up quickly. Ryan is still downstairs." Mr. Jones turned around and went downstairs.
After all, he was a man and had to stay calm, even though he felt as uncomfortable as Daisy.
After a long time, Daisy cleaned up and walked downstairs. Bridget and Mr. Jones were painting with
Ryan in the living room.
Bridget's eyes were also red as if she had cried.
Daisy walked over and patted Bridget on the shoulder. "Go and see Arya."
Bridget stood up and said yes.
She knocked gently on the door. When she heard the words coming in, she pushed the door open and
went in.
Seeing that Arya was still holding Ramona, she asked, "Haven't she slept yet?"
Arya shook her head. "No, she didn't sleep in my arms. But if I put her down, she would cry."
Bridget walked over and reached out to touch Ramona's face. "She looks like you, while Ryan looks
like my brother."
Arya's eyelids drooped gently, covering her thoughts.
Bridget realized that she might have said something wrong and deliberately changed the subject. "Are
you busy in the company? Do you want me to help you? Although I don't know much about it, I can
learn to share your burden."
Arya looked at her. "It's okay. No need. Jacob can help."
Bridget nodded.
They fell into silence again.
Suddenly, Bridget said, "Arya, how many men do you think don't mind that his lover isn't a virgin?"
Arya was stunned for a moment before she understood what she meant.
"You... You kept rejecting Edward because of you..."
Bridget looked out the window, with complicated emotions in her eyes. "I was married... Edward was a
little dull. I'm afraid he hasn't even had a relationship yet, let alone that he had intimate contact with a
woman..."
Arya pursed her lips and had nothing to say.
She thought that every man would mind it more or less.
"Arya, you don't think it's possible, do you?" Bridget asked calmly.
"You can't deny it all. Edward has been chasing you even when he found out that you and Jasper were
married."
Bridget clenched her hands. "I don't know if he's serious."
When Bridget had just divorced Jasper, she was in a bad mood. When she had schizophrenia, Edward
accompanied her for her treatment abroad, every day and night. Sometimes she couldn't sleep at night,
but Edward never complained.
During her treatment, Edward lost a lot of weight.
The impact of a person's accumulated kindness on another was huge.
"I don't want him to follow me. I don't want him to like me. I was always bad to him and thought I would
be relieved if he left me. But I don't know why I was so sad to know that he was getting married."
Bridget lowered her head and cried.
Arya didn't know what she could say to her, because she had to make up her own mind about it.
It was about her happiness, and no one could decide for her.
The atmosphere in the Jones Family was depressing.
The next day, after breakfast, Bridget told Arya her decision. "Arya, I decided to visit him. No matter
what the outcome, I should give him an explanation for all these years."
Arya looked at her. "I support you. Do whatever you want. Don't make yourself regret it."
"But here..."
"You don't have to worry. I can take care of it." Arya hugged her. "No matter what decision you make, I
will support you."
Bridget hugged Arya back. "Arya, thank you..."
"We are a family. Never mind."
Bridget shook her head. "I want to thank you for your generosity, kindness and strength. I didn't
understand why my brother and Jasper were so devoted to you before. Now I understand."
Arya looked out the window. "I want to thank you, too. Thank you for accepting me and supporting
me..."
Bridget flew abroad that day. When she got off the plane and arrived at the scene, the wedding had
already begun.
It was held in the church, which was full of people. The holy and solemn priest, standing in the middle,
was waiting for the bride and broom.
Bridget turned and ran towards the main entrance to the church.
Edward was dressed in a black tailored tuxedo and stood there straight. Next to him was his bride. Her
yellow hair was tied behind her head. She wore a crown on her head, a white wedding dress, and
delicate makeup. She held the rose in one hand and Edward's arm in the other.
They looked like a perfect match.
The door of the church opened, and Edward didn't know what he was thinking. He looked back and
saw the woman standing not far from him.
Her hair was in a mess, her clothes wrinkled, and her eyes focused on him.
Edward had never seen Bridget in such a mess.
How sunny she used to be!
How did she change?
The bride followed Edward's gaze and frowned slightly. "Darling, who is she?"
