Chapter 445
Chapter 445
She paused for a moment and then walked over.
Caspar wanted to say something else to Arya, but he suddenly felt someone was approaching. Caspar
looked up and saw the person standing at the table.
He was stunned for a moment and then frowned, as if he was surprised to see Laura here.
Arya was not surprised.
"Can I sit here?" Laura asked.
She was here for a blind date. She didn't expect to meet Caspar.
Just as Caspar was about to refuse, Laura looked at Arya and said, "Can I, Mrs. Jones?"
Although they had only met once before, Arya couldn't refuse. "Sure."
"Thank you!"
Laura pulled out her chair and sat down. She didn't stand on ceremony at all. She asked the waiter to
bring a cup of coffee.
Caspar was extremely uncomfortable with her behavior. She was a born socializer.
They didn't know each other well. Why was she sitting here?
There were plenty of other empty seats in the cafe.
"Are you here for coffee?" Laura also felt that the atmosphere became a little awkward because of her
participation.
Caspar was expressionless. Looked like he didn't want to talk to her.NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
Arya glanced at Caspar and smiled at Laura. "I met Caspar when I went shopping at the mall
downstairs."
"I see." Laura turned to look at Caspar.
Knowing that he didn't want to talk, she asked deliberately, "What about you, Caspar? What are you
doing here?"
Caspar didn't seem to hear Laura's words. He looked down at the time.
"You have something else to buy, right? Why don't we go first?" Caspar looked at Arya and stood up
from his seat.
Laura was a little embarrassed.
Arya was not as indifferent as Caspar was. She smiled at Laura to ease the awkward atmosphere. "I
have to go downstairs to the mall."
Laura waved. "Sure."
She lowered her eyes and took out her cell phone from her bag. When she dialed the number, she
looked at Table Six, which was still empty. She frowned unhappily. When the call was answered, she
asked the matchmaker, "Why hasn't the person you introduced arrived yet? Is he reliable?"
Caspar cold-shouldered Laura, which made her depressed and unhappy, so her voice became louder.
As Caspar paid, he paused and glanced at her.
"Hasn't he arrived yet? Then I'll call and ask him."
Laura hung up the phone angrily and stood up. She said goodbye to Arya with a smile and walked
towards Table Six.
"Sir?" The waiter gave Caspar the change. Caspar looked absent-mindedly at Laura, who was sitting at
Table Six. Arya took the money from the waiter, patted Caspar, put it in his hand, and said with a smile,
"Is the girl here?"
Caspar smiled bitterly, "I thought I was stood up. I was happy..."
Before he could finish his words, the phone in his pocket rang. It was the matchmaker who called his
parents and asked why he didn't keep the appointment.
Caspar knew who was calling him. Arya patted him on the shoulder sympathetically. "It's not good to
stand someone up. You'd better go."
Caspar rubbed his eyebrows and felt a headache.
He braced himself to answer the phone.
As soon as he put the phone to his ear, he heard a roar from the other side. "Caspar, why didn't you go
to the appointed place? The girl has arrived. If you don't go, I will kill myself!"
Caspar kept his phone away from him and said, "I'm here. I'll hang up."
"I will ask the matchmaker about your blind date. If you dare to deliberately screw up the date, just wait
and collect my body!"
After the threat, the other party hung up before Caspar did.
Caspar only felt his head hurt more, and he felt like he was forced into a corner.
But he couldn't disobey his parents as they always threatened him with their lives.
Caspar let out a long sigh. He didn't mind going on a blind date, but he didn't want to meet this
annoying woman.
Caspar was very distressed.
He braced himself and walked over.
Laura glanced at him and said nothing.
It seemed that when she saw Caspar's troubled face, she had already guessed what was going on.
She was happy, but she remained cold on the surface.
She seemed to be getting back at him for embarrassing her.
Caspar pulled out his chair and sat down. Laura didn't say anything and just waited for Caspar to speak
first.
Didn't he ignore her?
Caspar felt a terrible headache. Thinking of his parents' threats, he said, "What do you want to drink?"
Laura smiled. When Caspar took the initiative to talk to her, her anger dissipated, but she still
pretended to be unhappy. She said coldly, "I'm not thirsty."
Caspar felt uncomfortable all over. He was not used to coaxing people. "You must not like blind dates
at such a young age, especially with an old man like me, so..."
"I like the man who's older than me." Laura interrupted him.
Caspar frowned. "Then what do you mean?"
Laura spread out her hands and said bluntly, "I'm very satisfied with you."
Caspar said, "I was divorced."
"I broke off an engagement."
Caspar added, "I'm older than you."
"I like the man who's older than me."
Caspar continued, "I have a bad temper."
"I like the man who has a bad temper."
Caspar really wanted to ask her, "Is there anything wrong with you?"
Caspar felt the atmosphere was awkward. He picked up the cup on the table and took two sips.
"Are you in such a fret when you're in court?" Laura was inexplicably in a good mood. For some
reason, she was happy to see Caspar unhappy.
Caspar looked up at her. "I was forced to come here for a blind date. I have a crush on someone..."
"Your ex-wife?" Laura interrupted him again.
Caspar was really angry. Why did this girl keep interrupting him?
"I have something to do, so I'll go first." Just as Caspar was about to stand up, he saw Laura taking out
her phone from her bag. "I'll tell the matchmaker that you leave me behind on purpose."
Caspar paused and his eyes turned cold. "Are you threatening me?"
"No, you are going to leave. Am I wrong?" Laura looked up and found that Caspar was especially afraid
of the matchmaker speaking ill of him in front of his parents.
She couldn't help but be in a good mood.
It was as if she had found Caspar's weakness.
"Get up, I'll take you home." Caspar suppressed his anger.
"I don't want to go home." Laura folded her arms around her chest and leaned back in the chair.
Caspar felt he would be pissed off if he continued to talk to her.
How could this woman be so difficult to deal with?
